DEMO CRISIS

l went to see the exhibition DEMO CRISIS at the Syntagma metro station exhibition hall. The exhibition is from 1st until the 7th of April 2019 and it’s the 2nd year of a cartoonist exhibition which featured art by Greek and Italian artists. The image that was used for the events poster was made by Konstatinos Sklavenitis. I am a big fan of his comics and his cartoonist work for the newspaper “TA NEA”, also knowing he would be there gave me the chance to catch up, he is a good friend.

Although it was the day before the exhibition ended there where a lot of people who came to visit. Looking at each of the art that was exhibited made me realize that it takes talent to transmit a message through an image.

At the exhibition was also the cartoonists Panagiotis Mitsobonos and John Antonio. Both of them and Kostas Sklavenitis signed my copy of the exhibition catalogue!

Getting a comic book signed

Last Sunday l went to the club for friends of comics, because there was an art meeting and l made sure to bring with me a copy of the comic book Brigands, l knew that the comic book artist Panagiotis Tsaousis who did the art was going to be there

So after l did some drawing l approached Panagiotis Tsaousis and asked him if he would like to sign the issue, he kindly said yes.

He did not only sign it but also made a small sketch, l’m such a happy comic book fan!

A Comic Book Competition in Serbia – An Acknowledgement That Motivated Me

Although I’ve drawn since a young age, I never became a comic book artist. But when author Marko Stojanović invited me to participate in a Balkan comic competition in Serbia, I received an acknowledgement that gave me motivation to keep improving.

Although I’ve drawn from a very young age, I never became a comic book artist.

It was such a pleasure, though, when comic book author Marko Stojanović asked me to participate in a comic book competition in Serbia — the XV Balkan Festival of Young Comic Book Writers. I received an acknowledgement.

This gave me the motivation to try again and improve my writing and drawing skills.

I do believe competitions help spread the word and also give creative people the opportunity to reveal their talent, compare it with others, and gain new influences.

I hope I will be part of many more events celebrating the art of comics in the future. I would really enjoy it.

Konstantinos Sklavenitis Exhibition – A First Comic Book and a Promising Talent

Konstantinos Sklavenitis, a Greek cartoonist and comic book artist, is preparing for his very first exhibition and comic book launch. I had the chance to watch him set up the hall and admire his art — here’s why I’m excited for him.

Yes, it is — and it’s one of Konstantinos Sklavenitis‘ creations. This painting is one of several that will be part of his two-day exhibition.

Konstantinos Sklavenitis is a cartoonist and a comic book artist.

Tomorrow, he will have his very first exhibition and presentation of his first comic book. The art in the comic book is similar to the items that will be part of the exhibition.

I really enjoyed watching him set up the exhibition hall with friends. While they were putting up the final details, I had the chance to walk around and admire his art.

I also got the chance to go through his comic book for a second time — and I enjoyed reading it yet again.

Comicdom 2013 – A 3‑Day Event I Truly Enjoyed

Comicdom is an annual comic book event that started in 2007, growing bigger each year with international and Greek guests. I attended in 2013, chatted with favourite Greek artists, bought comics, and connected with fans. Here’s why I can’t wait for the next one.

Comicdom is a comic book event that started in 2007. Each year it becomes bigger and bigger, with many international guests and local Greek ones.

I enjoyed it the most because I got the chance to chat with several of my favourite Greek comic book artists, buy many comics, and hang out with fellow comic book fans.
