There was so much to see in Cairo that I did not have time to find a comic book store.
But luckily at the hotel I am staying is a small store where you can buy some bits like cigarettes, shampoos, crisps, soft drinks and surprisingly comic books!
I found a Disney comic with Donald Duck on its cover, it was translated in Arabic.
I asked the man behind the till for its price, he told me and reluctantly added that it was a book for children.
I replied that it’s ok I just need to please the the child of comic book fan I am from time to time!
It is amazing to travel to another country and finding out that they have a common love for comics. I’m visiting Belgrade in Serbia and just opposite of my hotel was a big bookstore, Vulkan. I found out that it was open for 24 hours and of course it had a comic book section. It had an amazing collection of hardcovers and trade paper backs and the comics here are called Stripovi!
My eye caught the amazing art on the cover of a hardcover. It was Moebius the Long Tomorrow! It was translated in Serbian and published by Darkwood.
Of course I bought the comic book.
I also visited Darkwood comics!
It was a delight going through the comics at the Darkwood comic book store! The first thing my eye caught was a Zagor comic.
It was an amazing experience which I really enjoyed
As we were walking down Floral Street in Covent Garden London we saw the TinTin Shop. I got thrilled and had to go inside and check it out.
Sadly they did not let me take any photos while in the shop but I can tell you it was filled with all thing TinTin! From all sorts of comics to all kinds of merchandise.
Back in 2013, Kulbir gave me the title of “The Explorer” in his House of Flying Scalpels. I’ve been active on Twitter for years, chatting about Marvel, web comics, and Greek artists. Here’s why I felt honoured — and why you should check out his site.
I have been using Twitter for a while now. Although I originally made my account way back in 2011, it is only in the last year or so that I have become truly active.
I chat a lot on Twitter and enjoy it very much. I have had the chance to find other people who express their love for comics with the same passion as I do.
Mostly I tweet about:
Marvel
New comic books from artists who self‑publish their work
Web comics you can find online
Events, comics, and artists from my country, Greece
But mostly, I love to share my excitement about something new that I have discovered.
I guess that is why Kulbir gave me the title of “The Explorer” in his House of Flying Scalpels. I am proud to be a subject of his House.
Kulbir is one of the people I really like to chat with on Twitter. He has an amazing site packed with detailed, in‑depth articles on comics. I really like his site and his passion for comics — and I strongly suggest you check it out!
