Supergirl

This is a Supergirl fanart I did way back in the 90’s when Peter David was on the title.


Peter David and Gary Frank created Linda Danvers who became the all new Supergirl when she was fused with Matrix, the old Supergirl. Linda gained powers as the Earth born Angel of fire!

Due to this comic and knowing how good Peter David is I made the jump from Marvel comic to DC and I was not disappointed!

Peter David always created amazing comics with beautiful flawed characters which inspire me,

He is a legendary author!

Assassin Spider – My Dark Take on Spider‑Man for a Fanzine

A fanzine dedicated to Spider‑Man’s many outfits inspired me to create my own version — a sinister, lethal anti‑hero called the Assassin Spider. Here’s the sketch and the idea behind it.

The sketch below is part of a fanzine dedicated to the many and various outfits of the Amazing Spider‑Man.

I came up with the idea of making a version completely opposite of what I believe Peter Parker is.

My approach is more sinister. A “what if” — Spider‑Man became as brooding as the Punisher, but more lethal.

An anti‑hero I named the Assassin Spider, who wears an outfit similar to the ones from Assassin’s Creed.

Process

I pencilled the sketch, scanned it, and placed an orange‑red colour as the background, giving similar colour tones to the outfit.

My First Gallery – Four Drawings Hanged at Solaris Comics in Exarcheia

In the late 1990s, four of my drawings — made with markers and coloured pencils — hung on the walls of Solaris Comics in Exarcheia for six months. Here’s the story behind them, and why I’m sharing them now.

This is one of the few posts I will make with my old sketches. I promise that soon I will upload new drawings — and hopefully, you can comment on whether I’ve improved or not.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, in the late 1990s I was trying to find my way into making comics.

The Drawings

The following drawings are fan art of favourite superheroes from Marvel and DC comics . I did not edited them with Photoshop or any other illustrating program. I used markers and coloured pencils.

They were hung on the walls of Solaris Comics in Exarcheia.

Despina, the owner of the store, was kind enough to decorate the walls with my drawings for six months.

My Hopes

My intention and hope was that someone would see my talent and want to collaborate — or even offer me a project.

Looking Ahead

I might use Photoshop in the future to edit these drawings — or maybe even redo them entirely.
