Finding the TinTin Shop

As we were walking down Floral Street in Covent Garden London we saw the TinTin Shop. I got thrilled and had to go inside and check it out.

Sadly they did not let me take any photos while in the shop but I can tell you it was filled with all thing TinTin! From all sorts of comics to all kinds of merchandise.

It’s amazing you should definitely visit it!

Blast from the past

I do not remember which of the two I read first but Blek and Asterix where two comic books that I would read occasionally when I was a kid.
Both were translated in Greek as ΜΠΛΕΚ and Αστερίξ.

The very first time I read Asterix was when I was about 11 and my cousin lent me all the issues that had been published up to then.
What a blast, the art was amazing and the stories were such humorous adventures, it was such a sad day when my cousin after repeatedly asking me to give the comics back she finally came over and picked them up her self.

Blek was a comic which Ι picked up by chance because I didn’t have something else to read. It was an anthology of comics I wasn’t that interested in Blek’s adventures.I was amazed though by several other comics which were featured in it, like Aria and the Leopard from Lime Street.

The reason I was reading them occasionally was that my pocket money was not enough to buy all the comics which were coming out when I was a kid and later they had stopped being published.

Now they have come back Blek is published by Μικρός Ήρως and Asterix by Μαμούθ Comix

Hooked, inspired and entertained!

The comic book that got me hooked on superhero comics was X-Men.

A comic book translated in Greek and published by ΜΑΜΟΥΘ COMIX (Μαμουθ Comix) way back in 1987.

It was so different compared to all the other comics that I was reading up to then, the format was bigger it had coloured pages and it featured three superhero stories.

The stories were written almost a decade before I got the chance to read them but they still seemed so fresh and the art was stunning.

I was hooked, inspired and entertained!

I still love reading it after all these years.

A Magic World

Thessaloniki is one of my favourite places to visit and I was so happy when I got the chance to visit Triantafyllos Venetis magic world.

Triantafylllos runs a regular kiosk in Thessaloniki, what is special about it is that you can find their plenty of old and new comic books

The kiosk has become a regular hanging out place for many comic book fans, Trantafyllos himself being a huge comic book fan makes it a lot easier for us to visit and chat for as long as we like.

I was a pleasure to meet friends and make new ones when I visited, I also found several of my favourite comics!

Definitely, I will visit again the Magic Word!
