A Late Christmas Treat

I have a small amount to spend as a Christmas gift on comics and I was finding it hard on what to choose.

The choice between physical and digital comics was easy. I chose digital comics due to the fact that I do not have enough space, traveling is in our plans for the future and having my comic book collection with me at all times is very convenient.

Comixology is the best place for me to buy digital comics. They have a wide range you can choose from and also there are many offers.

All these options is where I found the difficulty on choosing the right ones for my Christmas present.

So I focused on what I like in a comic book

  • Good stories with a fresh perspective
  • Good art with good storytelling
  • Short and sweet storylines or at least lengthy series which at some point end.
  • Just having a digital comic is not enough some times, I like to have a copy in PDF format.

Image Comics was the publisher that offers all the above, but which series to choose from?

Well that was easy to narrow down.

I went through all their series found comics which which I have heard the best and they where giving the first issue for free.

I ended up with 44 issue 1 comics which I downloaded last night.

This is what I chose – Sonata, Birthright, Excellence, Extremity, Horizon, Oblivion Song, Outcast, Outpost Zero, Stellar, Angelic, Deadly Class, Death or Glory, Descender, East of West, Fatale, God Country, Gideon Falls, Hadrians Wall, Injection, Huck , Kill or be Killed, Low, Monstress, Moonshine, Nomen Omen, Nowhere Men, Paper Girls, Pretty Deadly, Saga, Sex Criminals, Southern Bastards, Southern Cross, The Black Monday Murders, The Fade Out, The Wicked + The Divine, They’re not Like Us, Tokyo Ghost, Trees, Undiscovered Country and Rat Queens, Kill or

Gosh I am excited!!!

Sonata is the first one which I have started to read and Brian Hamberlins art is stunning!!!

I do have a lot of reading to do and what I will buy will be based on which one has the most impact on wanting to read the rest of the story.

I’m glad that I found a way to give my self a smart and a satisfying Christmas gift!
